Emma Dominguez (b. 1989) is an interdisciplinary artist based in Stockholm, raised in Alby. The Swedish Million Programme forms a central part of her artistic practice and serves as a point of departure for her exploration of questions surrounding narrative and bodies.
During the summer of 2023, parts of the short film Låtsas som att det regnar were filmed in Residence Botkyrka’s apartment at Krögarvägen 26 in Fittja.
The film deals with trauma following the shootings in Sweden. Through magical realism, we follow Aida in her search for her brother.
Aida is celebrating her brother Omar’s 16th birthday, but when she wakes up the next day, he is gone. She cannot find a single trace of him. No matter how much she searches or asks, no one can give her an answer, not even the adults around her.
Where is Omar? In the search for her brother, Aida faces unexpected obstacles and realizes that the truth is not what she expected.
