Henna Tyrväinen from Pori, Finland works mainly in the field of serigraphy, experimental photography, video and installation art. Her relatively minimalistic works are often filled with a frail sense of melancholy and longing. Her inspiration springs out of her surroundings – urban landscapes and forests alike.

Cyanotype workshop with artist Henna Tyrväinen
12 October, 2019
Welcome to an afternoon where we explore experimental photography and cyanotype printing together with artist Henna Tyrväinen.
Lately, there has been a revival of using the old photographic printing process that has its root in the 19th century cyanotype technique in which a mildly photosensitive solution, negative and UV-light are used to develop unique images. The participants will create their own digital negatives using everyday objects, such as plants or small scrap material, to create a unique deep “Prussian blue” image.
The workshop is free, but places are limited. Minimum age: ca 15. Coffee & tea is served. Language: English / Swedish.
The residency has received funding for the residency from the Nordic-Baltic Mobility Programme for Culture. Residence Botkyrka is supported by Botkyrkabyggen.
