Jaana Kokko (b. 1972) visual artist, filmmaker and teacher based in Helsinki, Finland.
Jaana Kokko visited Residence Botkyrka for a longer period of time during the autumn 2010 and winter 2011 with a vision of researching the relationship between humans and animals in the suburbian landscape.
The residency resulted in the video work The Forest is Young and Full of Life that was shown at Moderna museet in March, 2012. In connection to the opening, Labyrint Press released the original scripts as an artist’s book. The film was also shown in the video- och film programme Biografen, Botkyrka konsthall, 17-22 April, 2012. A trailer of the film was shown at Fittja Open 2011.

Jaana Kokko contacted Residence Botkyrka with a vision of researching the relationship between humans and animals in the suburbian landscape. the residency resulted in many things, among them an artist’s book with the completed video inclosed. the book also included both the full script of the video as well as discarded scenes that never made it into the film.
