JP Kaljonen (Helsinki, Finland) is a visual artist working in the field of socially engaged arts. His works vary from public art works & interventions, creative workshops and video works to community based cultural and arts events.
JP Kaljonen had a residency in Fittja in August 2012. Together with Johanna Raekallio, he organised a large scale performance action in the form of a role-playing game called Dublin2 on Sergels torg in Stockholm. The ideas was to stage a refugee camp in the middle of the city in order to make visible how asylum seekers are treated in the EU’s asylum processes.
Leading up to the event JP collaborated with OPAD among other organisations and held workshop in different locations in Botkyrka.
