Yesterday was more beautiful
2 oilpaintings on canvas, 2016
The artist has used images from well-known paintings and embedded them into his own everyday life in Denmark. The old pictorial motifs, that through time have been regarded as desirable, are here questioned: do they fit this very moment? And is it even possible to carry the past with us into the future?
The work is part Botkyrka municipality’s art collection, and has been shown in the exhibitions Övergångar / Transitions, 2016 and Matters of the heart – a journey through the art collection, 2023.
