Sasha Huber (b. 1975) is a visual artist and researcher of Swiss-Haitian heritage, based in Helsinki, Finland. Her work primarily concerned with the politics of memory and belonging, particularly in relation to colonial residue left in the environment. In 2011 Botkyrka Konsthall presented the solo exhibition: Transatlantic Passages: Agassiz, Haiti And Africa In The Works of Sasha Huber, curated by Joanna Sandell.
Petri Saarikko (b. 1973) is an artist and designer based in Helsinki. In 2011 he collaborated with curator Finbar Rosato on the artist’s book Planet Bezoar or Planet Hairball according to the Lost Book of Time, Labyrint Press (2011).
The artist duo Sasha Huber and Petri Saarikko had a residency in Fittja from January to March 2011. The artists were researching local remedies as a way to find out about the diversity of knowledges and practices connected to health and wellbeing. The work was later shown at Fittja Open 2011 and published as an artist’s book Huskurer / Remedies through Labyrint Press.
Sasha Huber later came back to Botkyrka to work on a public art commission.
