about the artist

The Sober & Lonely Institute for Contemporary Art is a multidisciplinary artistduo, formed by Lauren von Gogh and Robyn Cook in 2011. The institute is currently mobile.

about the residency

The artist duo had a residency during the late autumn of 2015, when they also presented an artist talk at IASPIS Kitchen Talk.

The following year, in 2016, they participated in the exhibition Övergångar / Transitions with a proposal of an interactive artists’ (and adventure) book.

The artworks came into being through a telepathic performance between the artists. For them, telepathy is a way to work aruond barriers of time and space. The drawings were created during the artists’ stay in Residence Botkyrka in 2015.

collaboration and support

The residency in 2015 was a collaboration between Residence Botkyrka and IASPIS. Residence Botkyrka is supported by Botkyrkabyggen.
