In two panels with international participants; artists, curators and researchers, the seminar focus on the two major topics: What is a residency? What is a city? The discussion will revolve around how art can be a factor in urban development, activating people on a local level, and how the identity of a city area can be shaped and understood.

Residence Botkyrka is a new international residency program in Fittja. City space and urban living will be used as a platform for artistic production. Residence Botkyrka acts within an interdisciplinary field between art, architecture and social structures. Residence Botkyrka produces knowledge regarding social practice and the identity of city space and public sphere.
Residence Botkyrka is a collaboration between Botkyrka konsthall, The Multicultural Centre, Botkyrkabyggen and the City planning department in the municipality of Botkyrka.
